There are two kinds of energy resources available in the environment around us; namely
renewable and nonrenewable resources. up until very recently nonrenewable resources
were the kind of resources that were used to generate power/electricity. The basic difference
between the two kinds of energy resources is that one is available in abundance and the
other in limit. Clearly from the name we can say that nonrenewable resources are the
resources which cannot be renewed. They are not available in abundance. Whereas
renewable sources of energy are available in abundance and will not exhaust themselves.
In other words we can say that sources of energy exist around us in the environment freely.
Some are indefinitely available called renewable and the others are nonrenewable.
As we know that nonrenewable resources are limited in nature and will run out over time
frame we need to carefully plan power access for future times. It is our responsibility to
ensure proper use of renewable and nonrenewable energy in such a way that we are able to
sustain the energy requirements of the country. Non-renewable energy is one that does not
renew itself at a sufficient rate for sustainable economic extraction in meaningful human
time-frames.
Non-renewable energy is energy generated from fossil fuels such as coal, crude oil, natural
gas, and uranium. Unlike renewable energy, non-renewable energy needs human
intervention to make it suitable for consumption. Fossil fuels are mainly made up of Carbon.
It is believed that fossil fuels were formed over 300 million years ago when the earth was a
lot different in its landscape.
Nonrenewable energy is sourced from fuel deposits which performed years ago when the
earth was different in its landscape. Nonrenewable energy is generated from fossil fuels
which are mainly made up of carbon such as coal crude oil natural gas and uranium unlike
renewable energy nonrenewable energy needs human intervention to make it suitable for
consumption which by the way causes a lot of pollution too. These resources originate from
fossil fuel deposits and also nuclear fuels.
Fossil fuels are generated by the remains of animals and plants. These fuels are
decomposed in higher months of heat and pressure to be able to generate power.
They are divided into three categories:
Neutral fuels are technology relying. They occur naturally in radioactive material.
The biggest disadvantage of non-renewable energy sources are that they are limited in
nature and will one day or the other exhaust if we keep using them at the same rate as we
are using them in current times. The second biggest disadvantage of nonrenewable energy
is that these need human intervention to be able to generate power. Which is a process
which creates pollution and harms the environment.
Now is the right time to set the balance to use the two types of energy resources so that we
save up on the limited resources for when we really need it. And choose a healthier
environment by cutting down on the use of Non renewable sources of energy.
