Alfa Infraprop Pvt. Ltd. is renowned as a famous developer of renewable energy projects across India. It follows, therefore, that the company is highly conscious of its corporate social responsibility (CSR). This consciousness shows up in all the projects that the company undertakes in diverse Indian states. Outlined below is proof of CSR.
This project is based in Komarada in Vizianagaram District of Andhra Pradesh. Like all small villages in India, this one lacks several facilities too. Therefore, Alfa Infraprop has created a detailed plan for uplifting the village within a budget of approximately 300 crores. This budget has taken into consideration, both, one-time expenses and recurring ones.
As part of its plan to improve the existing infrastructure, Alfa Infraprop aims to focus on creating a proper drainage and sewerage system. The setting up of Suvidha Public Toilet (SPT) on-site is included in the plan. SPT will show up in the adjoining villages too.
The organization considers the provision of safe and purified drinking water to every household a dire necessity too.
In general, villagers have to travel long distances to access healthcare services. Therefore, having primary health centres, as well as a 30-bed hospital with all amenities, should help a great deal. Other provisions will include free consultations (allopathic and homoeopathic) and medications (allopathic and homoeopathic), and ambulance services for emergencies. Alfa Infraprop desires to conduct eye camps and polio camps, have mobile medical van services for creating awareness about health, and set up immunization/vaccination programs.
The organization will initiate a monthly pension scheme for senior citizens. Each will receive an amount of INR 1,000.
Differently-abled villagers require opportunities for gainful employment. They will receive training for various skills at suitable camps. If someone requires financial assistance, artificial limbs, or a wheelchair, the company will offer it. Confidence-building activities include the organization of sports events and the creation of self-help groups.
Alfa Infraprop believes that education is the key to profitable employment. Towards this end, it aims to set up both a primary and a secondary school. If knowledge is made compulsory in this area, adjoining villages may be inspired to engage in learning too. Of course, the schools will not comprise of mere classrooms and nothing else.
The company will make sure that the necessary infrastructure and amenities (water supply, library, toilets, furniture, computers, etc.) are in place for both. The development of a good playground and provision of mid-day meals are additional bonuses.
As for the existing schools, the company would ensure their renovation/upgrading. Alfa Infraprop would also see to the engaging of knowledgeable staff in the schools, especially for granting training in computers.
Whoever desired to continue further education could enroll in the ITI College that the company aims to set up. Alternatively, students could apply for admission at the Jyothi Institute of Training Centre (Parvathipuram). Apart from these facilities, the company wants to award scholarships for meritorious students desiring to gain admission in various colleges or vocational courses. Females wishing to continue education even after marriage could hope for monthly stipends.
The vocational training courses are diverse. Therefore, applicants may choose in alignment with personal interests. For instance, the creative mindset might prefer to learn everything about handicrafts, candle making, tailoring, and embroidery or fashion technology.
People keen on merely earning a living could go for training in computers, typewriting, and shorthand, grinding and packing of spices or welding. The entrepreneur mindset would love to know about the cultivation of mushrooms, food preservation, handling a printing press, spiral binding, screen printing, or making of agar baths is, papads, and bakery items.
Finally, Alfa Infraprop would set up skill development courses to aid in the formation of self-help groups and ensure that girls/ladies from the weaker sections of society received suitable training.
Anyone wanting to set up a small poultry farm, shop, etc., could expect financial assistance up to an amount of INR 50,000. The company itself would promote self-help and income generation schemes, along with the launching of fly ash brick plants.
Villagers find it challenging to communicate with the rest of the world, due to the absence of public telephone booths and mobile/Internet services. The company would rectify this situation.
Alfa Infraprop values the sentiments of the village. Therefore, it has promised to set up solar-powered places of worship.
Finally, the village panchayat may expect to see new halls and repair existing ones, in the future.
